Log home packages can be supplied to the builder or the “do it yourselfer”.  We can help you design your log home and erect it on your site. A retail price list has been provided to give you the opportunity to compare costs of various home packages.

Cabintek is capable of building homes of almost any size, but it is important to understand that any outside wall should not exceed 44’ in length. This is due to the available of larger trees and the economics of shipping longer logs. If a home requires greater square footage we add wings to the base home and make the home “L” shaped. Handcrafted log homes are designated by how many logs it takes for the wall height to get to 9’. Simply the fewer logs it takes to get to 9’ the larger the log. An 8 high log home requires larger logs than a 9 high log home. The most popular log homes are 8 log high homes. 8 high logs will have a butt diameter up to 24” and a tip diameter up to 14”.  We have the capability to build 5 high log homes. These logs are massive, up to 36” in butt diameter. Remember though that the larger the log, the smaller the inside finish room dimension.

Cabintek can provide log home packages and components throughout the United States for the builder or for the “do it yourselfer”. In some cases the owner would want the home “weather tight” before our crews leave the building site. The suggested price list will give you the projected costs to get the home roughed in for future finishing. Let us know how much work you would like Cabintek to complete.

Cabintek Log Home Components

Components are available including stairs, railings, mantels, sills and trim, trusses and more. Cabintek can custom build whatever you may need to complete the home.

We build standard log trusses generally used for entrance roof areas. Stock sizes include 7/12 roof pitch, vertical support posts and look out logs. Normal truss horizontal lengths are 8, 12, 16 feet in length. All log trusses are made from white or red pine with log diameters 8-14”. The trusses are assembled at the factory then disassembled for shipping. All hardware is included and 5/4 roof decking is available if requested. Complete installation instructions are included. Truss components are hand crafted together for a professional look.
