Cabintek Log Homes

Many log home enthusiasts remember vacationing with family as youngsters and dreaming of someday owning a authentic log home. As a youngster, I vacationed with my grandparents in northern Michigan. I dreamed of owning a log home like the cabin my grandparents owned over 40 years ago.

Log sided and milled log buildings, that most people call log homes just were not what I had in mind. Massive natural logs crafted together with great skill were what I wanted. As a builder for over 30 years I figured it would be easy to find an experienced log home builder that I could hire to complete my dream home. Cabintek was founded out of frustration, as I could not find anyone who could build my dream. After years of searching, Cabintek teamed up with Jerry Koski, a master log crafter from northern Michigan. Jerry has handcrafted logs for homes for more than 40 years. He is regarded as one of the best in the world. Koski’s log expertise and my 30+ years in the home building industry has allowed Cabintek to become a “turn key” authentic log home builder. In other words, your search for someone capable of building your dream log home is over.

Cabintek log homes feature massive natural logs up to 36” in diameter and over 50 feet long. Each log is precisely fit to its mate. No chinking is required. Through processes called double scribing and scarf notching a masterpiece of a home is created. Cabintek adds signature features that will make your home a one of a kind “castle” that will be treasured for generations. Some of our signature features include full 2” thick window sills with ½ log cedar trim. An enormous king post, over 17’ high, with an eagle, hawk or other creature of nature you desire carved at the top. A huge one log mantle over the fireplace with a bear, deer, fish or fawn carved out of one end. We hand carve our front doors with white tail deer or outdoor scenes. Screen porches, decks and massive front entry ways can compliment a Cabintek log home.

Please arrange a visit, or better yet plan a weekend stay at one of our model homes. We want you to see what we are talking about-a Cabintek log home is truly a marvel!
